In 1958, Newburyport joined twenty-nine other New England communities in launching a celebration designed to bring people together and celebrate the places they call home. This 9-day festival strengthens the bonds of our community. Newburyport’s 69th Annual Yankee Homecoming is the longest continuously running festival in the country.
This year’s theme, Home Sweet Home, reflects what so many of us feel—that Newburyport is more than just a place on a map. It is where memories are made, friendships are renewed, traditions are passed from one generation to the next, and neighbors come together to celebrate a shared sense of belonging.
Yankee Homecoming will once again feature many beloved traditions, including waterfront concerts, Family Day, heritage tours, art and craft shows, the U.S. Coast Guard Open House, the Grand Parade, and the spectacular waterfront fireworks display, along with many other activities for all ages.
