The North Shore’s premiere meetings and events venue since 1925, the Hawthorne Hotel offers versatile space for your off-site meeting, corporate outing, trade show, retirement or holiday party. With over 9,000 square feet of meeting space, including the Grand Ballroom and various breakout areas, 89 comfortable guest rooms, and a central location, the Hawthorne provides an experience, not just a meeting. We offer discounted meeting packages, suggested corporate itineraries and thoughtfully curated amenities.

The Grand Ballroom is ideal for large-scale gatherings. Set classroom style for a conference or with rounds for a dinner, the expansive interior, magnificent Palladian windows and 19-foot ceiling creates a spacious elegance.

The Essex Room is versatile, with double French doors and built-in a/v, opens into the adjacent alcove for breaks or networking.

The Pickman Room offers views of historic Salem and features a decorative fireplace. Ideal for an intimate meeting, reception, or family gathering.

The Library, reminiscent of a ship’s cabin, is warm and inviting with oak paneling, bookshelves, a built-in bar and comfortable seating. This L-shaped room is located on our lower level.

The Skylark Room accommodates smaller-scale gatherings. With windows facing the historic town, board meetings, roundtables and small dinners are comfortable and filled with light.

Sophia’s, located off our restaurant, is named after Nathaniel Hawthorne’s wife. With windows and an open layout, this room can be styled for any occasion.

Nathaniel’s, our breakfast restaurant, can be used as a break-out room for lunch or booked for a private evening event.

The Mezzanine, overlooking the Ballroom from the second floor, and our central Lobby offer space for conversation, cocktails or relaxation.
