Bring your group outdoors with CraneOutdoors, a year-round program of guided adventures across the 2,100-acre Crane Estate. Groups can choose from:

  • Guided kayak trips through the Crane Wildlife Refuge, along the Castle Neck River, or on historic Fox Creek, the oldest manmade tidewater canal in the United States (adult groups of up to 30; youth groups welcome)
  • Guided hikes across the beach, dunes, and miles of trails, including sunset and full-moon adventures
  • Combined kayak-and-hike outings, such as a full-day trip to Choate Island in Essex Bay
  • Coastal education field trips exploring the beach, dunes, and salt marsh, with lessons on habitats, wildlife, and coastal resilience – ideal for schools and youth groups

Programs can be combined for a full day outdoors, all kayak gear is provided, and expert guides lead the way. Experiences welcome outdoor enthusiasts of all ages, with gentler CraneExplorer options for families with children under 12.
